September 2024 Newsletter

Hello everyone! I hope you guys had an awesome August. This month we will be featuring a very special family member and volunteer of WeEMBRACE <3

A Journey of Hope and Community: Meet Monica Sajwan

Monica's journey with WeEMBRACE began several years ago, when she discovered a community that resonated with her values and her family's needs. Monica’s life revolves around her son, Shubham, who is on the autism spectrum. Despite the challenges that come with his condition, Shubham’s incredible talent for playing the piano and his deep love for music have always been a source of pride and joy for Monica.

In 2018, Shubham started participating in WeEMBRACE's virtual talent shows, where he found an outlet to showcase his musical talents. Monica witnessed how these opportunities allowed Shubham to shine and how they became a significant part of his life.

Monica herself is an active participant in WeEMBRACE's virtual fitness classes, including Bollywood and Zumba, which perfectly align with her love for music. These classes have not only helped her stay active but have also provided a sense of community and connection.

Monica has immense admiration for WeEMBRACE and its continuous efforts to grow and improve. She praises the organization for its commitment to expanding its services and providing more activities and classes, especially for children. She sees WeEMBRACE as guiding light for the community, constantly offering new opportunities for growth and enrichment.

However, Monica also harbors concerns about the future. As Shubham approaches adulthood, she worries about the lack of services for young adults and adults with neurodivergent conditions once school support ends. She believes that WeEMBRACE has an important role to play in filling this gap and providing hope and opportunities for neurodivergent children to lead productive lives.

One of the most significant aspects of Monica’s journey with WeEMBRACE is her deep appreciation for our founder, Meena. She describes Meena as passionate, giving, and selfless—a true pillar of support who has played an instrumental role in the success of the organization.

And behind all of this, Monica credits her husband, Surendra Sajwan, as the hidden hero of their family. His unwavering support in every way has been the backbone of their journey, making everything possible.

For Monica, WeEMBRACE is not just an organization; it is a lifeline that has provided her and her son with a supportive community and endless opportunities for growth. Her journey is one of hope, resilience, and unwavering commitment to ensuring a bright future for Shubham and others like him.
