Every child and adult deserves a chance to feel included, build friendships, and be understood—just as they are. The WeEMBRACE Buddy Match Program is a supportive 1:1 connection program created to help neurodiverse individuals develop meaningful friendships and strengthen social and communication skills in a comfortable, encouraging environment.
Through this program, your child (or adult family member) will be thoughtfully paired with a trained WeEMBRACE volunteer buddy and meet once a week to connect through conversation, shared interests, and consistent companionship. These weekly connections offer valuable opportunities to practice communication, build confidence, and experience friendship beyond school and daily routines.
We offer virtual sessions and in-person meetings when available. Our volunteers receive training before they begin and ongoing guidance throughout the program to ensure every match remains supportive, respectful, and safe.

IMPORTANT RULES (PLEASE READ)

Eligible for neurodiverse individuals ages 6 and above only.

All applicants — new and returning — must submit this form.

A Google account is required to complete the application.

Only one submission per person is allowed.

We currently have a large waitlist and process applications first come, first served.

Matches are based on interests, preferences, availability, and compatibility, so a match is not guaranteed immediately.

Matching may take up to 2 months from the date of submission.

The WeEMBRACE Buddy Match Program is a personalized 1:1 connection program for neurodiverse children and adults (our “buddies”) to build genuine friendships, grow confidence, and strengthen social and communication skills—outside of school and everyday routines.
Each buddy is thoughtfully paired with a trained volunteer and meets once a week to connect through friendly conversation and shared interests. We offer both virtual and in-person options. Volunteer buddies receive initial training and ongoing guidance to ensure meaningful, supportive, and safe connections.
Please note: In-person matching may not be available in all cities or for all age groups, depending on local volunteer availability and participant needs.
